Launchkey gives you unrivalled access to Ableton Live’s functions, including Capture MIDI, track arm, quantise, click and loop controls. Not using Ableton Live? No problem, Launchkey also has full integration with Logic and Reason, plus out of the box functionality with other DAWs including Studio One, Cubase and Pro Tools, via HUI. MODE (InControl): Switch between clip launching and controller layouts or drum pad triggering mode. ZONE: Knobs navigate the playlist zone by 1 clip/track increments. OVERVIEW: toggles a an overview display of 9 vertical zones on the top row of pads, performance settings page plus 8 controller layouts on the bottom row of pads, press a button to jump to the corresponding zone or layout.

*Due to the Pro Tools HUI implementation, the centre detent of the LaunchControl XL pan pots will not directly correspond to the centre position of Pro Tool’s pan pots. The controls still work relatively to turn pans left and right. HUI is designed to work with encoders for pan and send controls. The Launch Control XL has pots rather than encoders which have an absolute position. In order to make these work we ‘emulate’ the operation of the encoders in firmware.
The pan and send controls don’t have pot pick-up, they move immediately from whatever position they are in. This is great if you want to make a small adjustment but you may find you hit the end of the pot’s physical travel before before the virtual control on screen. To correct for this you may need to turn the control from one end to the other in order to reset the range. You will need to do this when you first load a session, when you bank tracks (9-16, 17-24 etc.), or when you change from pan to send a, send b etc.
This firmware update is recommended for all Launchkey MK2 owners.
It fixes an issue where the transport controls become disabled when multiple pads are lit.
Allows Launchkey MKII to be powered via 9V external PSU whilst being connected to an iPad.

If you already have Ableton Live it must be version 10 or greater to work with Launchpad. We recommend that you update to the latest version as previous versions of Ableton Live do not include the Launchpad integration for InControl. Launchpad will also work as a standard MIDI controller.
